Crystal Lange is the owner of The Fortified Doula LLC, follower of Christ, wife to Ben,  mother of four children and proud Mama of two Doodles, Winston and Scout, a “special” kitty named Hawkeye. Before becoming a doula, she served various communities across the country and internationally as an Early Childhood Education teacher for 19 years. Crystal has always been passionate about education and serving children and families in her local community. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Transitioning from an educator into partnering with families and community members as a doula has been an amazing journey. As a certified elite postpartum and infant care doula, certified elite labor doula, childbirth educator and infant feeding specialist through ProDoula, certified birth doula through DONA, Lamaze certified childbirth educator, certified placenta encapsulation specialist through Rock Star Birth Academy, certified Perinatal Wellness Professional, and Perinatal Instructor for UNC REX hospital, she has found other ways to empower families. By providing non-judgmental, evidence based information, hands on physical support and being a fortified  emotional supporter to birthing individuals and families, Crystal has seen the positive outcomes of perinatal education and doula support. Providing families with information and tools that will empower them to make the best informed decisions for themselves as well as preparing them to have the best possible prenatal, birth, and postpartum experience with the necessary support in place is what can make the difference between thriving and just surviving through those critical times in life. The tools and skills that she provides are skills that can be applied in many different facets of life. Crystal continues to serve families in Wake, Durham, Wison, Pitt, and Orange Counties and builds partnerships with hospitals, birthing centers and other valuable community entities in and around the Triangle. Crystal serves as an independent contractor for two local doula agencies, has served as a mentor in the Moms Supporting Moms SAFEChild program in Wake County, and is passionate about empowering her local community members on their rights and options as birthing individuals/families, and the significance of doula support. Crystal has advanced trainings in African American Postpartum Care and Postpartum Belly Binding by Shafia Monroe, Infant Feeding, Childbirth Education, Postpartum Support International Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders:Components of Care, and Spinning Babies. She counts it an honor to support you and your family.

How I Do It
